This is my first time in India and boy... has it been a whirlwind of an adventure so far. I won't lie, India was never really on my bucket list of places to visit, but the opportunity to come here came around and I couldn't say no.
The journey begins for us in Kolkata which was a perfect transition from Malaysia to India. I'd never really heard much about Kolkata but after seeing the city, I understand why people say what they say about it. The architecture is very colonial and the city is so vibrant. So much life and culture that I would never have dreamed of.
So this is a look at our first day travelling through the city.

The adventure begins at the airport in Malaysia, KLIA, getting ready to head off to India. We arrive 4 hour early because we are quite a bit crew of people and we have A LOT of equipment with us. After the rendezvous it is straight to the plane for a 4 hour plane ride.
We land in Kolkata very early in the morning and take a taxi straight to the hotel. I was too tired to vlog so I whipped out the camera the next day once we were properly rested.
We have breakfast at the hotel and meet the crew. Then it's onto the streets for couple of establishing shots with our gorgeous host Bella Zahir.
A tram ride later and a tonne more filming and we are in the city center. I've always been a fan of Indian tea, aka 'cay', but I've never had the proper, authentic, traditional tea. Today was my first try! SOOO DELICIOUS!
There are various ways of moving around the city, but after a taxi and tram... we decide its time to try an Indian tuk-tuk. Barely had time to prepare myself for it as I got shoved into the back without much thinking. WOW! That was one hell of an experience.
We end the evening in the Muslim area of Kolkata visiting the Nakhoda Mosque and praying maghrib there. A quick dinner later and back to the hotel to rest and digest everything that Kolkata threw at us. A lot of new sights and smells.
